Nouns

 Ø    A noun is a word that names a person, a place or a thing.

Ø    Common Noun – a noun that names a person, place or things.

Ø    Proper Noun – a noun that names a particular person, place or thing.

Ø    Proper Nouns are capitalized.

Ø    The main word in the subject of a sentence is often a noun.

Ø    Singular Noun – a noun that names only one person, place or thing.

Ø    Plural Noun – a noun that names more than one person, place or thing.

Ø    Add –s to most singular nouns to form the plural.

Ø    Add –es to a singular noun that ends with s, sh, ch, or x.

Ø    Possessive Nouns – shows that a person or animal owns or has something.

Ø    Add an apostrophe and –s (‘s) to a singular noun to make it a possessive noun.
