Please remember to sign your childs' planner and homework assignments.

Math, Social Studies, Science, Health and English tests are read aloud and teacher directed.  Second grade teachers model and read through each problem and/or question, step-by-step.  The students are instructed not to go ahead on content tests, as they may not understand the specific directions without teacher guidance. 

Reading tests, in most circumstances, are not read aloud so that they are a valid measure of the child's reading proficiency.  Reading tests are most often completed independently.

Students are instructed to check their test numerous times before turning it in.  Incomplete answers are marked "incorrect".

All tests, except Spelling and Vocabulary, are double-weighted in Progress Book.

Only tests in English, Social Studies, Science and Health may be fixed and returned for extra points. One extra point is given for each mistake that is corrected.  Second grade teachers do not allow students to earn additional points for fixing Math, Reading or Spelling tests.
