Hi my name is Kester Morr. This is my 17th year teaching at Nolley and I am so lucky to get to know the entire school as the Physical Education "Gym" teacher. Previously I taught 1st grade for 10 years and 4th grade for 5 years. This is my 2nd year as the gym teacher. Personally, I am a very fortunate mom with 2 kids, Jayden-12 and Avery-10, and I can't forget our 4-legged friends Polly (dog) and Nellie (cat). My husband is also a teacher and a wrestling coach at Barberton High School. We live a very busy lifestyle, like many of you, with both of our children very involved in sports. Parents I feel your frustration when it is hard to fit it all in, BUT PLEASE take time to teach the importance of "school first" to your child. I love teaching kids life lessons each day and feel that we learn from mistakes and by good examples. We take leadership to a new level at Nolley and praise kids for showing good character. In the gym, I grade kids not only on athletic ability, but good sportsmanship and effort as well. I use a "3 Strikes and Your Out" approach to teach my 1st-4th graders responsibility. The only homework they have is to remember their tennis shoes on their gym day. If they forget it's not the end of the world, but they do sign my "oops I forgot my shoes" paper and once they get 3 strikes they serve a recess detention. My job is to keep your kids active and safe and tennis shoes help my cause. I am very approachable and look forward to seeing many of you in the building at various times. Feel free to contact me with any concerns you may have.
