Every year is a new and exciting one! I look forward to meeting new students and teaching them about our country.
I am currently in my 15th year of teaching at Manchester Middle School. My undergraduate courses are from Kent State University and I earned a Master's Degree in Education at The University of Akron. I have tutored, led summer camps, taught summer school, piloted an Intervention Program at visiting schools to help improve test scores, supported young writers in the Power of the Pen Program, and led Manchester Middle School cheerleaders for five years in 1998-2004. My teaching background consists of all ages, grades 1-8.
Presently, I teach history and Reading / Language Arts. History is a passion of mine! My goal to to help young children understand and appreciate their country and how it was built long ago. My future career goals are to further my education with a possible concentration in counseling. I also hope to continue to add spice and enriching learning experiences in my classroom so that my students will learn and value what they have been taught.
Outside of school I volunteer my time to help with my daughter's sporting / school programs she is involved in at the time. Other activities I enjoy are traveling, camping, boating, golfing, exercising, and spending time with my family and friends!
Interesting places I have visited were Mexico, where I learned how to snorkel with beautiful sea creatures. Europe, where I viewed Buckingham Palace, the Roman Baths, and even a natural wonder of the world, Stonehenge!! It was fascinating! Recently, I stopped into Philadelphia to see the Liberty Bell, where I learned that the town celebrates Independence Day for a full 8 days!! What fun!
I look forward to a great year with your child! Please email me anytime if you have any questions or concerns.
